Le district de Ramechhap doit son nom au village \u00e9ponyme. Le mot Ramechhap<\/em> vient de deux mots n\u00e9palais : ram <\/em>qui est le nom d’une personne et chhap<\/em> qui signifie \u00a0\u00bb la marque\u00a0\u00bb. Selon le folklore local, le village de Ramechhap \u00e9tait occup\u00e9 \u00e0 l’origine par la population Tamang<\/em>. Ram, un Tamang du village, re\u00e7u le titre de Mukhtiyar<\/em><\/span> (l’\u00e9quivalent de Premier ministre) du village par un d\u00e9cret royal. De ce fait, la propri\u00e9t\u00e9 fonci\u00e8re et les autres activit\u00e9s l\u00e9gales \u00e9taient r\u00e9alis\u00e9es sous le seau (chhap) <\/em>de Ram. D’o\u00f9 le nom de Ramechhap donn\u00e9 au village.<\/p>\n

Le district de Ramechhap (en n\u00e9palais<\/a>\u00a0: \u0930\u093e\u092e\u0947\u091b\u093e\u092a \u091c\u093f\u0932\u094d\u0932\u093e<\/span>) est l’un des 77 districts du N\u00e9pal. Situ\u00e9 \u00e0 127 km de Kathmandu, il est connu sous le nom de Kirat TeChhap et la ville de Manthali en est le chef-lieu. Sa population comptait 202 646 habitants, d’apr\u00e8s une estimation de 2011.<\/p>\n

Il faisait partie de la zone de Janakpur et de la r\u00e9gion de d\u00e9veloppement Centre<\/a> jusqu’\u00e0 la r\u00e9organisation administrative de 2015 o\u00f9 ces entit\u00e9s ont disparu.<\/p>\n

Il fait partie d’une subdivision de 6 unit\u00e9s de niveau inf\u00e9rieur, dont 2 municipalit\u00e9s et 6 gaunpalikas ou municipalit\u00e9s rurales<\/sup>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n
